Well I can add this, one of the basics of "Wicca" is the Wiccan Pyramid it has 4 lines
To know
To will
To dare
to be Silent
To keep this short the premise on being silent is that talking about it not only can weaken it from your end, making you second think things, leach power from the spell etc, it can alert others to your workings and let them manipulate and or affect it in various ways, usually negative. The consensus is essentially that unless they are part of the working of a spell, they are not to know about it, till its done, if ever.
I generally don't tell people of potential good coming my way in part because of the crab mentality even my own family, which is just as fraught with jealousy as anything else it has. Sad but true.

It depends on the work. If you're doing domination work on your partner, you don't want to leave Domination-type products lying around the house where he/she could see them, or he/she will know what you're up to.

If you're doing general healing, blessing or cleansing work, or working with saints or gods/goddesses, putting up an altar would be a great idea and how obvious it is depends on the type of people you live with.

I live by myself, so I can do work whenever I wish. However, if I want to influence my boss in some matter (just as an example), I make sure to wear Boss Fix oil as a scent on my body when I go into the office and wear it on my hands while I touch my boss' furniture or desk, while praying (under my breath) what my petition is.

Thank you both for your responses; they are helpful. However, I'd like to specifically know is secrecy imperative for effectiveness. Suppose you live with someone and they just happen to see things. You're not trying to hide anything but they can simply see what you're doing. Does the fact that others can see diminish the potency or effectiveness of the work?

When you live with others who are not of the same mind and thoughts, I would hide my work to keep their negative thoughts away from my spellwork. Specifically, I wouldn't want anyone touching my work space, with eyes, hands nor thoughts.

I wonder if your question is asked in relation to the many discussions on mojos being seen and killing them? for work I hide it too even if they are accepting. Personal reasons because to me work is personal and religious and its a private matter. I have a set up hidden away, if someone sees it i explain that its religious and that always seems to end the questions. Iv never had it be an issue of effecting the work. As for mojos im on the fence, iv had em accidently seen or touched and lived others killed. My own experience is love mojos seen bythe occupant will be effected by touch or feel more easily then money or protection..but thats my experience and I honestly cant say if thats a general rule or not. To be safe I try and keep it all hidden.

In my experience, you just have to be selective and intuitive about how much to share & with whom. I'll sometimes share with my mom or husband but usually after the fact. Even then I'm usually vague with details.

I do egg cleansings and reiki for my children but I've told them not to tell everyone about it because they might not understand. My kids are extremely talky and I'd rather them not tell the mailman & cashiers about it.

It's funny, now when one of them is grumpy or acting out, the oldest will often say "Wow, _____ really needs an egg!"

Greetings everyone.

I was wondering if someone could clear this up for me: Is it permissible to discuss spells after casting them? I realize they should be kept private for the most part, but I was wondering if it is okay to discuss the workings of a particular spell with someone you're close to. Here's the situation. There is a particular person that has harmed my entire family, so I mentioned to a relative that I would do some hexing/binding against this person "when the time is right". Well, after performing the spell, I discussed some details of it with a particular family member (who was also hurt by this individual).

Should I have talked about it, or just kept quiet? Does discussing a spell afterward negate its effects in any way, or not at all?

I would personally keep quiet unless the person was my rootworker and/or reader who was involved in the actual execution of the work. Speaking to others doesn't necessarily negate the work you did, but their energy, doubts, fear, etc. could possibly effect manifestation.

Do not discuss your work with anyone. If it works, great. If it doesn't, you'll look foolish. You do not need any negative energy from people to distract you; there are many people who are against any type of magic or spiritual work to change a situation.

I wouldn't even discuss it if you get positve results; it may not last.

Thank you both. That makes sense about how others' doubts, energies and fears and etc. could interfere with the manifestation. In the end, it really is all about energy and intent and I should have realized that conflicting energies and views could perhaps battle with my own. Fortunately, my family member has pretty much the same feelings, fears and intentions toward this person, so maybe that even amplified the spellwork. I'll definitely keep quiet next time though.

I keep my alter to myself. It is in a prominent place in my bedroom. When I have "visitors" over
that may move from room to room - it is hidden. When they leave I replace it. Does this have any effect
on the strength of the alter?

I personally agree. People dont understand how important it is to keep quiet unless its a professional and/or reader helping you. Now if you are working with a fellow friend who is a practitioner, or on the behalf of someone then that is okay. But other than that... SHHHHH.

In this case, it can go both ways, but I think it would be best to just keep quiet because you really don't know their stance on hoodoo, and sometimes they might over think it, obsess and so on.

Some people are able to keep their altars up constantly. Others are only able to put up temporary altars. When I had to do this, I would just re-cleanse my space or whereever I move it to, and put the things back on my altar.

You're absolutely right. I just felt so much more at peace after performing the binding that I talked about it without really thinking things through. Fortunately, the person I discussed it with it was like-minded and felt protected afterward too, but I will know to keep quiet next time. Also, it just seems much more respectful to keep quiet after doing such work.

I need some suggestion. I want to use some oil or powder on my guy but I don't want him to know about it. The hard part is we're living together in a room for rent so there's no where I could hide my candles if I am to work on one. I'm thinking:

1) Put Blessing or Healing products (which one would help someone with depression better?) in his shampoo and body wash or lotion so it would work on him while he is relax in his shower or when I give him a body massage with the lotion? Which one would go better? Powder or oil?

2) Put Road Opener and/or Crown of Success powder in his shocks or shoes so he would bring success with him anywhere he go?

3) I also need some recommendation for products that can help someone find a job fast

4) Should I dress myself with follow me boy and fire of love oil when I'm around him to strengthen our relationship?

5) I also want to work cast off evil on him to help with his drinking habit but I don't know how...

6) Should I say something while putting the products in his stuff? Like "please bring A blessing and success," ect.?

1) You can put the OILS into his products. Powders in liquids just create a chunky paste, so don't use them for that. I like Blessing AND Healing together for depression. Clarity is also a nice one for mental wellness when in combo with Healing. You could also petition St. Dymphna and add some of her oil in there too if you like.

2) You can absolutely put the powders in his socks and shoes

3) Use Fast Luck with Steady Work and Crown of Success for fast employment. You can also consider doing a divination to see if St. Expedite &/or St. Joseph would be willing to help you out on that.

4) You can certainly dress yourself in those oils

5) You can put this oil in his stuff the same way you would the others, but I feel works such as skull candles and doll babies work best for that kind of thing. You could get a PLAIN vigil candle dressed in Cast Off Evil, and then burn it as decor in the house. Or if you feel that you could keep a doll baby hidden from him, you could make a doll baby of him and use Cast Off Evil herbs/powders/oils on it when you work it, bind him from picking up a drink, etc. This is a more involved work, and may necessitate back up given your current situation.

6) Yes, pray your intent strongly as you lay your various tricks.

Remember, you can always have MISC or one of the AIRR workers set lights for you, since you have a lot of different work going on there all at once. It may be prudent to choose one or two things to work for yourself, and then have an AIRR worker handle the other things on your behalf.

you can buy tea lights dress em with oil and pray over them for your cause and burn em daily in a nice candle dish, you can dress his clothing with powders or thinghs he touches, wash his clothing with disolved bath crystals, have candles set at AIRR LM for you, wear the oils..etc.. lost of work can be done secretivly. may want to get a worker to do some work for you as well being you are limited in what you can do like setting candles or working jars etc for ya.

The Blessing and Crown of Success products can be added to body washes, lotions, massage oils, shampoos, and so forth and will blend right in.

The Cast Off Evil has a fairly sharp scenet like a cleaning product or Vick's Vap-O-Rub, so it cannot be used in personal body products, but it can be used in cleaning products secretly.

I am wondering is it ok to talk about what you want or need while doing spellwork. Now no one knows i practice hoodoo. But i notice things take longer to manifest or dont manifest at all when im anxious and keep complaining about what i want and need. So to sum it up is it best if i just keep completely quiet about things and let the magic work?

Yes, staying quiet about the things you're working for, and trying to keep a positive and faithful mind-set about your petition is an important part of the work. Your complaints or worries only show doubt in your work, and you basically end up working against yourself. Also by talking about the things you need with others, they will have their own reactions to that, some of which may not be positive, and that too will only work against your petition.

So keep it close to your chest, and keep a positive attitude and faith that the Divine will provide for you what you've asked for.

But for lifelong pessimists, that's a huge struggle that can generate its own waves of anxiety and doubt. You can even start agonizing about whether you're being positive enough! Auuugh!

The old aphorism is to "Set it and forget it." If you haven't yet experienced the quiet, easy confidence of the successful veteran rootworker, a casual detachment, even a light-hearted, low-key skepticism -- a "yeah, whatever" attitude, are better than anxiety and distrust in your work. At least take the pressure off the work and off yourself.

And while you are at your workbench or altar, do the best work you can, of course.

If you do it right, you can feel the result. Your faith becomes knowing. Then thoughts, talk or doubts will vanish. it might take a bit of practice and experience but it will come. Until then, build a habit of never letting any thoughts or emotions about the work leave the altar, or crossroads, or running water and so on.

This is usually a sign that there is something else interferring with the work. It can a protective thing; A helpful spirit sees that you have not thought this through properly or have something better in store for you and thus hinders the work. Or the target is protected and this causes interference. While you are waiting for the new shipment you take some time to think this through. What will be the consequenses? Have I missed something here? If so, what could it be? and so on...

If you are living with your parents or in someone else's house, then you may have an issue with someone who thinks rootwork is dangerous, evil or wrong. Law Keep Away may help, but you may just need to cut to the chase and have a professional do the work you do not have privacy to do. You could continue with baths, talismans, mojo bags and the like - bath crystals can be repackaged, talismans can be explained away as "just jewelry," mojo bags should probably always be in your pocket anyhow -- such things can be concealed pretty easily.

I advise anyone who cannot do work without harassment to move out ASAP. You have the right to your own spiritual practices.

However, there is a great tradition of "sneaky tricks" that you can employ in the meantime. Burn 4" or 6" candles instead of vigils when the interfering people are not home. Keep your supplies in a safe place. I recommend a plastic bin in a closet under some blankets or clothing or under your bed. You can also place it in the trunk of your car, although it may get jostled a bit. Use powders and oils on your body or where your target will touch them.

I hope there already isnt a thread for this but im trying to breakup and curse a couple. I have access to the property they share but not a lot of dna items right now. I have already buried a vinager jar that has had some movement however the woman in question purchased him a harley so it kinda messed up the breakup. Im working on a lemon spell but i think maybe i may need to get a little nastier and start putting curses to affect her business. I also have access to her business property. When i started this i just wanted to breakup work. But since these two people make me sick i now want to do both. Anyway, im going to start a breakup black candle moving spell and wondered if i should bury it on the property. Anyway, any spell ideas when you have access to property? Spread appropriate condition powders all over the property where they will be walking. Just make sure to mix it well with the local soil so that it doesn't show and look suspicious.

Can i premix with dirt before i get to the property so i can do this quick. Maybe get dirt from the proptery one day then go back another day. Can several powders be mixed together? like hotfoot/gofer dust. And do i have to walk backward. I can see how i can walk backward from the front door the only issues with the perimeter of the property is a little strange so i can really walk backwards from it. Theres also a great drainage pipe that i can plant stuff in.

Yes, you can premix the powder (and you can mix more than one together) with the local dirt so it's all ready by the time you get to the property. Call out her name as you sprinkle, asking for what you want ("May Jane Doe be cursed in everything she does, may her business fail and her relationships fall, Amen"). Yes, walking backwards in an odd number of steps (3, 5, 7, 9, 13, and so forth) are the traditional way of laying the powders. Just watch where you step

I am an old school root doctor. The way I was taught we used candles for prayers but our first line of work was jars and powders. I love working with laying out tricks--there is something visceral about it that I love.

Take your lemon spell and bury it where they will walk over it. Also mix a bit of Break Up and Destruction powder with dirt and literally lay it out everywhere on their property. Toss it at their door, on their porch, their lawn, and pray with all your heart.

What this will do is infect their entire property to discord, chaos, fighting, and they'll break up right quick.

DUME is not meant to kill things or abstract concepts like businesses - it's meant to kill a person. I would absolutely leave it OUT of this, unless you want to run the risk that her business fails because she dies and can no longer run it!

This happened to me in the past where my mothers husband (not my father) went looking for my magical supplies (my mothers too) and destroyed them (mine not her's).

It was due to me "outing" my family's magical practices. My mother had done work to cause him to grow his hair again (he was bald). In a heated argument (I was a teenager and vastly less mature than I believed myself to be) while he was screaming about "the witchcraft devil shit!" (pardon my quote) I screamed "how the hell do you think you got your hair back?!" (my mother was not pleased with me) he asked god right there (because he believed his hair came back after all these years from doing some work on his pastors lawn) that if witchcraft is what brought his hair back he wants it all to fall back out. within a day and a half he was bald again. so for years he would secretly steal, throw away, etc my supplies, until I put a protection spell on them.

my mother in a fit of anger, when he had grabbed her tarot cards told him that he can break every wand, stone, and powder, because none of it mattered, and she threw her cards in the fire place, telling him that he can destroy everything and she will still be a witch because it that witch who makes the tools not the tools who make the witch. oils and charms can be remade.

keep strong to who you are and do some protection work.

You could also just come right out and say "don't touch my things" and curse them hard if they do.

Well, the physical-world solution to this is to simply get into the habit of putting your things away. Find a cupboard no one but you looks in, store the positive products in your clothing drawer, wrapped. Buy a little tin lunch box, or wooden box. Buy a little safe and hide it under your bed.

Hm, well in that case I would get some products to help you be calm and cool about it, and give you more confidence. If it's just a cute Buddha on display I 1) don't see why people would question you about it (how odd of them, really) and 2) don't see why you should continue to stress about them questioning it. For you, Crucible of Courage, you could also add Power in there, for additional personal resolve. There's also Cast Off Evil "...to rid one of bad habits, wicked influences, and evil companions" if this person/these people are of the malicious sort.

At one point in time an ex-boss of mine was getting a little too verbally frisky with me, and I was just plain exhausted from the week. I had no mind to go through any inappropriateness the following day, so I took a blank piece of paper, wrote his name out nine times, rotated it counter-clockwise and crossed it with something like, "Shut your mouth, do not give me your s---!" nine times while thinking of his lewd remarks and how they made me feel, and how I did not wish to feel them again. I then put Commanding sachet powder in the center and folded the paper away from me, again rotating counter clockwise with each fold. When I was done I stuck it in my shoe so I could walk on it and keep it active. Since I knew it was going in my shoe from the get-go, I took care that I didn't fold it too much, or else it would be a discomfort on my end- I kept it flat.

I only used it for the day, and what a peaceful day it was!

You can adapt something similar for your situation.

That sound's good I might try that. maybe with stop gossip powder or some other commanding powder. Power oil sounds good I wonder how I can incorporate that maybe in a protection mojo bag or power mojo bag? I shouldn't of called anyone bias I take that back.

Hi All. I tried to search this topic in this forum, but cannot find something close.

I bought a honey jar spell kit and extra candles. I know burning candles is supposed to be done in secret. But what if someone sees me burn candles, will it bring any bad effects? My house is so small and my husband is always around. He knows that I use spell kits sometimes but he never touches any of my stuff. The only problem is most of the time he'll be able to see when I burn candles.

I know for mojo bags, as long as people don't touch them, that's fine. Seeing is fine. But how about burning candles?
