Hello, chaotic angel --
Thank you so much for using the Missionary Independent Spiritual Church candle service at CandleMinistry.com
You wrote that the form on our web site "did not allow [you] to get in all the necessary information" and that you've "sent an email, but unsure what to do at this point."
You can always call the church at 707-887-7808 to speak to a real, live human.
additionally, i may be able to explain what i think you are seeing:
When you order a candle service, we provide a small space for you to write a petition, prayer, desire, or wish. When our candle servers prepare your order, they know the name of the candle -- that is, the general intention -- and they will use your petition to say a specific prayer on your behalf as they light the candle.
About half of our clients fill in the petition. The rest leave it blank. We would like EVERYONE to fill it in, because it helps our candle deacons, but we will, of course, set a light with only the candle name as a guide to the client's wish.
Of the people who do fill in the petition space, about 1 out of every 100 do not know what a petition is. They think that we should read their full life story. But that is not a PETITION. It is what we call a "data download."
We cannot affix large papers or multiple sheets of paper to your candle. It creates a fire hazard -- and reading a long story is not going to help us (or you) focus on your petition, either.
Now, what follows is not about you -- it is just the ramblings of a long-time candle server.
===============
Believe it or not, the all time record for an emailed "petition" was 20 pages (!) long when we printed it out. It was a mixture of past hopes, disappointments, angers, previous attempts to correct the problem, tales of other rootworkers who had failed to help, complaints about money problems, lack of respect in the family and on the job, desires that were split between reconciliation and domination, questions about the inner thoughts of the person they were working on, the entire story of a 28 year marriage, black magic being worked by relatives, a generational curse, mistreatment by in-laws, multiple adulteries and infidelities, the births of three children who were now all grown up and no longer at home, a failing business venture, a pending IRS tax case, the illness of an elderly relative, an act of domestic violence, the problems family members were having with alcohol and drugs, the evil entities infesting a particular room in the home, the desire for revenge against a younger mistress, concern about weight gain which was caused by a curse, the hope to block a pending divorce, the names of everyone in the family and how they had been magically hurt, and sixteen other things that were important to the situation.
How could i find a PRAYER in that, or a WISH, or a DESIRE or an INTENTION? Where was the PETITION?
Most of all, how could i pray for a person who could not just say what they wanted?
In a sense, i am a spiritual waitress. There is a candle menu to choose from and you can customize your candle, to "have it your way" with a specific petition. In the kitchen, the candle deacons will prepare the item you order, and i will serve you.
In a restaurant, if you were to say, "I'd like a cup of coffee with cream, two eggs over easy, one sausage patty, an English muffin, Orange marmalade, and some green Tabasco sauce," i would know exactly what what you wanted and i would see that you got it, to the best of my ability.
Spiritually speaking, a simple petition, like "Please bring my husband back before we divorce" or "Lord, send Angels to get my brother off pain-killers" or "Bless my daughter's marriage" or "I want a better job at higher pay" is quite clear to me. When i see a simple and short petition like that, i know that the client has a TRUE WILL AND HOPE for an outcome, a solution, and a boon from Heaven, and is not just using my candle service as a complaint board about past mistakes, abuses, curses, paranormal intrusions, crimes, accidents, lies, and frustrations. I will do all i can to see that the order is put through.
We are here to set lights for those who cannot set them themselves and to faithfully, with real love, add our prayers to those of our clients -- and a short petition, a real statement of DESIRE and INTENTION, will help us help our clients more than a life history will.
Sincerely,
Your Spiritual Waitress.
