Seasons Greetings, Everyone.

Unread post by OnyxRose » Fri Dec 13, 2019 1:56 pm

I’m a newbie here. It took me over a year to figure out how to get on here, but better late than never I guess. (I kept messing up the password, so my other two emails are in “forum limbo” at the moment. The name I’m now using isn’t really the preferred username...but oh well, what can you do? It makes me sound way more narcissistic than I am. :| )

How do I introduce myself? Well, without posting an autobiography, I’m an introvert...for starters. I’ve been interested in magic since I was a kid...a time when you were seriously lucky to find books on the subject. (Yeah, I’m dating myself.) You could probably consider me a kind of a magic geek or a magic nerd.

I really don’t want to go into heavy detail about myself for the first post, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask. I might not be able to answer everything well (...it’s complicated...), but I’ll do what I can.

BossMistress --

Hello, and welcome to the Lucky Mojo Forum.

You can change your username by asking an admin to do it for you in the thread on changing usernames.

Here are some popular links to get you started with free studies by means of web pages online. In addition, all of the Moderators here on the Lucky Mojo Forum (their names are in green) are graduates of my Correspondence Course and are well equipped to share their knowledge.

These are links to general information on Hoodoo and to give you a jumping off point.

Hoodoo History:

Oils:

Baths:

Powders:

Candles:

Herbs:

Conditions and how we can address them:
http://luckymojo.com/hoodooataglance.html

Here is some info on how the forum is set up. It is divided into four parts:

1) News and Announcements about the Lucky Mojo Curio Company and this site.

2) Lucky Mojo Spiritual Supplies and how to use them, listed in threads by product type and product title.

3) Life Conditions and Situations, with recommended Lucky Mojo products, spells, and advice.

4) The Online Hoodoo Community, including sites, events, and outreach sponsored by Lucky Mojo.

When you post, it helps your moderators, who are recompensed volunteers, if you post in the area of the board that is best suited to the archival of your question or comment. That way moderators will not have to move your post or merge it into ongoing threads.

If you can't find a post you made, it may have been moved or merged. Go to your profile by clicking on your name and "search recent posts" -- you will find it.

Within each board section there are STICKY threads -- ones that always stay "stuck" to the top. These are popular discussion-threads that you can read and add to if your questions or comments fall into one of these oft-broached topics. If you don't see a "sticky" that relates to your question, feel free to start a new thread in the relevant section.

We do have a few "thou shalt not" rules here, and they can be found in the Forum Rules link at the top of each page. Most important for newbies are these four common errors to avoid:

1) Please do not come here asking for our formulas for conjure oils or for instructions on how to use spiritual supplies that you bought at a grocery store or at a competitor of ours; this is the Lucky Mojo Forum and is financially supported by the Lucky Mojo Curio Co.

2) Please do not spam the moderators by sending multiple duplicated private messages asking for personal help outside the board; many of our moderators do perform readings and rootwork spell-casting for clients, but they are professionals and you should approach them as you would any other professional.

3) Please do not post illegal copies of material from other web sites or from books.

4) Please do not post put-downs of any group of people based on their religion, race, or national origin, including derogatory comments.

5) Please do not start new topics.

6) Please do not quote people.

Thanks.

On changing usernames, I’ll check it out. I didn’t even know I actually had alternatives until now.
On the links and general info, even though I’ve taken a peak at them before successfully registering, I’ll explore them a little bit more now I’m finally here.

On #6...Wow, I didn’t know you don’t really get to do that here. That’s one to remember. Okay.
You might remember me, Miss Cat, from that one and only phone convo we had back in mid-August last year. You had no plans to answer the phone...you were on your way to do something else...but you were kind enough to take a little time out of your busy day to snatch the phone up and talk with me at the spur of the moment. (Seriously, thanks a million for that btw.) I had mentioned at the beginning my frustrations with technology. This was a big part of it, failing twice at being able to register, but I didn’t get the chance to tell you.

The very fact that I was stupid enough to pick...of all times...Friday the 13th, yesterday, to finally try yet again to register here shows how much of a problem I still have with it. (facepalm!) I’m not computer illiterate, but I do consider myself somewhat inept when it comes to working with some kinds of technology. Maybe back then it was Mercury retro or something, but even now I still actually picked the wrong date after all these months. Somehow I thought it was Thursday. (What was I thinking?) Nevertheless, I’ll consider what to do next if anything at the “changing usernames” link. (Sigh.)

Anyway, you got my email address. Yeah, that’s me.

Hi, i do remember you. I found your client record through your email, too! Nice to see you here.

If you want a username change, it is really simple. Just post in the Change Username thread with the name you want.

Hello again. Thank you. And I hope you’re well.

It’s been over twenty-four hours now and I posted so many times here under this name today that I’m actually getting used it...although I really was just about to ask about it in the “changing usernames” thread a second ago. However, I did try to use one of those previous names still attached to my other emails when I attempted to register this time around, but the system still wouldn’t have it. They’re too married to them. If the usernames were liberated, they would have to be separated from those emails somehow. Therefore the emails might actually have to be liberated from the system too.
But it’s cool. I think alright now with the one I got. Maybe it’s optics. Maybe it’s too much effort. Maybe it’s just good ol’ fashioned repetition. Or else it just decided to grow on me.

Nevertheless, I really apologize for disturbing you about a seemingly pointless issue.

Incidentally, I heard that the definition of a master or a mistress is a person who’s really good at doing something. It doesn’t just have to be magic. It could be technology, soccer, the arts, business...or even making tea. It’s kind of innocuous, really. I just wasn’t anticipating having to tack the word “Boss” onto the username “Mistress” for it to be accepted. So the username would just be “Mistress” or even “MistressX” without the “Boss” if it were changed back. But still...wow. The Boss. Overwhelming. But I think I’m alright for now. It’s hype, but it’s probably for the optics.

Anywho, another order has just been sent yesterday...yeah, I know, on Friday the 13. It should reach you soon.

BossMistress --

You already have an --> INACTIVE <-- account under the screen name Mistress. You signed up for it on Monday Jul 23, 2018, at 3:04 pm, but you never posted. It is linked to your email that has the initials O.R. in it, but BossMistress is linked to a different email. I am pretty sure that both of these are you -- the same person -- because i looked up the email addresses in the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. database, where the two emails were both on file, from different orders that one person had placed. There is no Forum account for a MistressX.

We are busy getting ready for our weekly radio show just now or i would ask Nagasiva to merge the two accounts. If you prefer the Mistress name, we will combine both accounts into that one, and if you still have access to the O.R. email, then that will be your email -- or he can change it to your other email. In either case, he will work with you on the password problem as well, unless you remember the password you used in 2018, when you started the Mistress account. After the merge, whichever username you do NOT select will then be freed up for use by another incoming member.

This is not a problem -- we do this all the time, so ask for and get EXACTLY the name you want.

Best of luck!

Hmm... I didn’t get the memo.
I never received a notification to confirm from either email.
Well I gave it a lot of thought, and I’ve decided to stick with what I got now...along with the email I created with it. I got that email somewhat recently, specifically for the purpose of receiving general magical communications. I could change my mind in about a year or two, but I really doubt it.
By now I’m actually identifying myself as that BossMistress. So BossMistress I am. I used it so much, so fast, and so intently, that offline I started visualizing myself as such. Also, I did a tiny bit of research and discovered the word “boss” might come from a Dutch, Hebrew (Yiddish?), or Danish word which actually translates as “Master.” So the username may double the meaning, both as someone in charge and as someone that’s a master at something. I should get in touch with that inner “superior woman” anyhow. I’m kind of sure it’s lurking around in here somewhere.
And I actually like the sound of it too, what with all the syllables, the hard letters, and all that.
I don’t overthink things, do I?
So go ahead and throw the first two usernames back into the cybersea...It’s BossMistress I’ll keep, since that’s how I see myself on here now. Anything else might have a chance of causing more confusion for everyone. Let’s go with what we got.
Next time I’ll try to be more careful and really watch what I’m doing. Me getting the password right wouldn’t hurt either. And me not using public web access so much. And me being more careful with Mercury retros. (Mercury retros hardly ever affect me, but I guess it did this time.) Yep, I’m really analyzing virtually every possible misstep. Murphy’s Law and all that.
But it was worth the wait.
Thanks for your efforts.
And Happy Holidays.
