Hello to all! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

First off, I haven't been able to find a thread like this anywhere, but that's not to say it doesn't exist within this incredibly dense world of Lucky Mojo forums. That being said, I'm sorry if I repeat the questions, but I would like some advice and I think it might help newbies and the like as well.

My main problem with conjure is I get so incredibly excited about working it that I have a horrible time calming down and performing the proper steps. I'm used to seeing results with people I already have existing relationships with, so I (somehow) think I can jump right in with someone else the same way. And you can't. You just can't. Conjure you work on someone you've known for ten years is vastly different than what you'd work on someone you have only recently met, and that's where my problems arise.

Conjure is literally about baby steps. You can't work Love Me conjure on someone you haven't even spoken to. There's no footing and even though its common sense, I have wasted a lot of time, energy, supplies and money through the years skipping the dozen steps it takes to get there.

So, I was hoping someone could give a simple outline of what should be done. My overall plan is to make initial contact with my target with something tangible like a dressed letter, or mail, or something then solidify their attention, build a relationship and then eventually result in something more. My problem is I don't lay the needed ground work to get the results I want.

1) All I'm certain of is getting a reading first.

2) Should I then do a cleansing bath?

3) Maybe Road Opening work?

4) Should I send the dressed letter before working anything substantial like a Honey Jar or vigil candle?

It's the small things I have trouble focusing on, but you can't do anything big without first starting small. So please, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I have moved your query into the first-named thread, but i want to tell you that you must also read the second thread to understand that there are traditional ways of performing hoodoo that are rooted in specific black American community cultural styles, as well as nearly world-wide magical methodologies, such as the use of contact or contagion magic, proxy magic, vocalizations, and the like, that appear in hoodoo in patterns similar to those fund in other forms of folk magic.

To answer your specific questions:

1) Not necessary before beginning spell work, but often undertaken by those with limited experience.

2) No, you do not need to take a cleansing bath for most work, especially not for simple attraction spells. If such a bath is prescribed, take it; if the work does not require it, don't take it. We take cleansing baths to remove spiritual messes. If you are not messed up, you will not require cleansing to do love-drawing spells.

3) No, you do not need to undertake a Road Opening for most work, especially not for simple attraction spells. If such a Road Opening is prescribed, do it; if the work does not require it, don't take it. We perform Road Opener work to clear blocked paths. If your paths are not blocked, you will not require a Road Opener to do love-drawing spells.

4) No, the preparation of a dressed letter is itself a job of work and all part and portion of it will benefit from being prepared and then held for a while with or under your altar work. Make the sugar jar, light the candle, write the letter by the light of the candle, place the letter under the jar, smoke it, dress it, pray over it, work with it physically, et cetera. When the letter is fully prepared (which may take several days), then select a propitious time to send it.

Hello All,
I have spent numerous hours on this forum and I believe this is the right place, forgive me if not!

I come from a family of very strong natural conjurers. We can look at people and curse them with broken limbs or sickness. Whenever I glance at someone on the street they almost trip but will ALWAYS lose their gait. None of the women or men in my family pursue hoodoo but me and if I was found out I would be considered EVIL. One male is a satanist and the rest are all Born Again Christians.

Basically, I suppressed my power. I did not like to lay people bare under my influence and see them weak to the point that they do anything I say, I felt shame. Before conjure I could just day dream and influence people and the situation I day dreamed about, in my dreams I would astral project and I know I was hag ridding. I had NO IDEA at that point that I was a natural, I didnt understand and thought I was "evil" and had a generational curse - So I systematically over years, through religion and cults, turned myself off a little bit. A LOT. But one time in a church service I accidentally broke out in spirit and the pastor just couldnt even finish his sentence under my gaze....again, the shame for being "evil" came back. So now, especially after reading this forum, I realize what I am and realize I am very strong in hoodoo and I WANT MY POWER BACK!

But I want to also control it, as if it is uncontrolled, I cannot function in reality. All I can do is just lay there and let the power rush over me until I come back down to this level. I hope that makes sense. When I do spells the power is so strong I cant even get a straight answer from the bouncing pendulum, I can move them easily myself. My negative works seem to work more swiftly and stronger than the positive works, is this something coming from the fact that I inherently think conjure is "wrong"? I really dont think so anymore, I want to correct my own conditioning, if that makes sense....

I believe in my dream state I am most powerful since I have suppressed everything pertaining to my power in the dark recesses of my mind and they come up strongly in my dreams. I can influence things more easily and visit people more clearly in my dreams and I know there is something about my dreams that I can utilize that I am not aware of yet.... Is there something I can do to draw out the power or tap into that power in my awake state? A product, ( I read ALL threads on Physic Vision and Master Key) a spell, etc? I like the idea of Clarity as well since my dreams are not as clear since I suppressed my power years ago...

I currently have Cast Off Evil, Fiery Wall of Protection & Crown of Success. I am not sure If I can use "cast Off' in order to cast off any inhibitions and fears, along with Crown of Success and another product of LM? Im about to place an order...would appreciate any insight an advice!

Hello,

I wanted to seek advice. When i was younger i was able to see images; scenes. I didnt know what this was but i would often like what i saw and i would try to grab the images.

Later as i got older the images went away but i still knew things without being aware beforehand that i knew things.

I just started to get into the practice again along with meditation and divination. But its not as it was when i was young seeing images.

I was wondering what anyone there could recommend as to rebuilding it

Yes, I think often we have gifts as children that we (for whatever reason) "turn off" as we get older and at a certain point want to re-awaken.

Just keep practicing, keep a journal of your dreams (writing them down immediately after you wake is good - so keep a notebook by your bedside), and then reviewing them from time to time will give you an idea of how your dreams are "speaking" to you now. You have a different set of life experiences than when you were a kid, so the experience might not ever be quite the same, but still just as rewarding.

The ideal reader-rootworker is one who is

* spiritually gifted
* socially compassionate
* has had some training in public speech or broadcasting
* is crafts-wise in the domestic arts
* has received and retained information about at least one method of divination and can apply it
* has received and retained information about the structural basis of rootworking and knows about 100 specific remedies
* has experienced significant tragedies and set-backs in life and has overcome or moved beyond those tragedies and set-backs
* is a natural "helper" who is able to relate to random strangers in crisis
* is a reliable labourer able to show up for work at stated hours
* is not incapacitated by medical illness, mental illness, drug abuse, or alcoholism.

And there ya go -- the perfect reader and rootworker! LOL!

I will tell you one more thing -- in addition to self-training for psychic reading by simply performing readings for friends, i know many spiritual readers who have also had theatrical, improv, and/or broadcast training -- and they are better readers for having had that training. A background in the entertainment business does not make them more gifted, of course, but neither does it make them "fake" (although a fake and economically predatory reader with theatrical training is a SERIOUS menace to the entire community he or she works in). Stage or broadcast training gives them the ability to time themselves to the length of a reading, speak without mumbling or using awkward repetitious interjections, meet unexpected challenges during a reading, and craft a "narrative shape" to the reading.

But when it comes to rootworkers, such training makes little difference at all -- while training in the material arts, especially colour theory, interior design, cooking, sewing, beading, embroidery, crafts, candle-making, woodwork, metallurgy, stained glass, pottery, and photography, can assist one in becoming a stellar rootworker. Again, such training adds nothing to one's gifts, but it ensures that what one creates will have appeal to the eye, which is important if one is competing on the international internet market.

I think that the giftedness issue is a moot point, really, because very few people attempt to become professional readers and rootworkers if they are not gifted. (Sure, some do, but they quickly leave the field due to repeated failure.)

Just be aware that all of the psychic gifts in the world are alone not enough to make one a reader, and all of the magical will power alone is not enough to make one a rootworker. There are many among my clients more "naturally" psychic than me, and a few who are better spell-crafters than i am, but without the other qualifications i mentioned, they cannot (or have not) become professional spiritual practitioners.

Planning a career in reading and rootworking is very similar to planning a career in any of the entertainment arts. And you know what they say about that: "Don't quit your day job." Start with limited hours and work your way up. You will know when it is time for you to consider full-time reading and rootwork as an economically viable profession -- if that is what you choose to do.

Hi all,

I would like help with my bf. I am a spiritual person and he thinks the fact that I claim to get messages from Spirits in dreams and light candles is a little crazy. Not everyone is spiritual and he may never become spiritual, that is a persons own decision and journey. you cant really force someone to participate and care about something they dont. If you want to try and get to him I would pray To God to give him signs and omens, and pray to his spiritual guides ( angel, ancestors) to reach through him to open his eyes. Hello All!

This is my very LM post. Even though my parents are Great Migration, Jim Crow sharecroppers from the deep south, I don't recall anyone in my huge family every mentioning rootwork or anything of the kind. Now, I'm middle aged and realizing that there's a huge gap in my understanding; I've got lots of book sense but.... I joined a spiritual movement on Day One and was instantly surrounded by witches, psychics and the like. I swear, everyone was magickal. Then, I lucked into an intensive, two week energy workshop. It was so intense, but also so natural. I commune with my energy body regularly. Many, many magickal events associated with that. Anyway, all this together has had me searching for this community for a few years now. It feels like home here.

I'm beginning to buy the supplies for the course and will be studying here as soon as I can get the money together.

I get strong feelings about people, usually negative. For instance, someone who 'felt' evil to me turned out to be a convicted pedophile. Another time, "something" was screaming "there's something very wrong with him" in my head the first time I spoke with my now ex-husband on the phone. "It" continued for six weeks til 'it' gave up. I ignored it, and have spent the last 15 years in hell because of him. Documented psychopath. Hell on earth.

My question: what is this called and how do I develop it?

It's just an old, very traditional way of "honing in" on you -- identifying you as different from others with your same name, same accent, whatever. Some ask for your zodiac sign, some for your age -- just trying to connect some way.

Aura gives good advice: Applied kinesiology, also known as muscle testing, is a great way to develop the intuitive side of your sychic bility.

the reason i asked is because i came across several youtube videos, one where taweez, where this Moroccan group of psychics (not Muslims) would destroy any psychic work by gypsis and arabs, they kept finding a person's name with a tablet written with the corresponding element and spirit (or demon) aka Jinn.

But then we spoke to a friend from Safet Israel who knows Kabbalah and he also said they do the same thing but had no idea why others asked for the mother's name., so i wondered and asked here

Hi all,

I really don't know where to ask this question.

All spells have to do with influencing people one way or the other so I am going to ask it here. Has anyone ever done some simple telepathy tests to see how strong their connection/influence is over the target they are working a spell on? I was thinking about this today and how it might be useful as a way to figure out how strong an influence we might have over a target, particularly a love connection. It might be used as an indication of how well a spell will work on that target?

I decided to do this today with my man. I have bottles with his hair in it. I held this to my forehead, closed my eyes, pictured his face and told him to contact me right away. I did this for about 1 minute. Exactly 6 minutes after I started he e-mailed me a photo of himself. Our first contact for the day (I was about to contact him when I decided to try this).

I will do this a couple of more times in the days ahead to see if it works again. It gives me hope that my spells will work on him.

I am thinking that the stronger the telepathic link is to a person, the better a spell will work on him/her?

Other ways to focus on a person to influence them (for good or ill, or to make them more suggestible) include holding things that they owned, staring at photos of them, or magnifying a creative visualization by means of a crystal ball.

For some reason I never thought of using telepathy before to test the influence I might have over someone. I tested it a second time later that same day. I was in the shower when I decided to do it the second time. I closed my eyes, focused hard on his face and told him to contact me right away. I did this intensely for about 1-2 minutes. This time I did not have any of his personal affects with me. When I got out of the shower there was a missed call from him! I take this as a very good sign that he contacted me within minutes both times and that he did so without it being planned ahead that he would and without me initiating it (well, at least not in the traditional way

)

I will do the test a third time on Monday when he is back at work and see what happens. This definitely is a great way to test the connection/influence we have over someone and has made me a lot more confident about my spells.

I have experienced several "6th sense" situations my whole life. I get hunches, dreams, I hear things, you name it. I know sometimes when someones getting ready to call me or talk about me. I have even asked if someone was gonna answer the door because I heard knocking when no one else heard it and as soon as they say they dont hear anything the doorbell rings. It stil scares me sometimes how I can look at someone and swear I know them but I have never met thwm. One guy saw me and stared at me with the blankest stare I have ever seen. I couldve sworn I knew him but couldnt place his face. He just stared at me for a very long time and it made me uncomfortable but I couldnt stop looking at him but I nevr said anything. Now fast forward about 6 months later and he just pops up on my mind again. I DO NOT KNOW WHO THIS IS! I just cant get him off my mind and I feel like I know him...AND he popped up on my mind only after I started a Blockbuster vigil the other day for something and someone totally different. Could this have anything to do with it and how do I find out who this is because whoever this is will not leave my mind now.

Hi all..... I just had a reading on the lucky mojo radio show and also with another reader from Airr, and during the readings, it was pointed out that I have "gifts" to be a root worker/reader. I don't quite know how to process this information, and not sure where to start. Where should I start if I want to know more about hoodoo ect? Understand that I don't have full privacy in my home to practice much spells ect but if I want to take baby steps toward becoming more knowledgeable where should I start and which books would anyone recommend? I'm looking for a spell that would enable me to go back to the past. I still live in the city where I grew up. It's a Rust Belt city that has seen better days. It is also where my parents and grandparents grew up. I've always been told stories of the city's heyday. I want to travel back to those days. I want to be able to walk around and see for myself. Is there such a spell that could be done?

There is no such thing as a time travel spell. That is a fictional idea, from movies, books, or television.

However, there are ways to travel to the past in the astral realm, via visions, via touching something of the past to assist your visions. This is a special form of psychic visionary scrying. It is not actually time travel per se.

I had a very close relationship with one of my dogs in particular.
I spent the last two months of her life with her as much as possible.
We camped out in the car as she could not get up to go in the house and I had to be out sometimes.
While I slept every night with my hand on her heart, the night she left, my shoulder hurt and I had turned my back to her.
She cried out one last time and I urged her to calm down, patting her as I was trying to sleep.
I knew it would be that night and do not yet forgive myself for sleeping on the job.
I was however entrenched in a very vivid dream, and have since been told that the man appearing in my dream after some sort of deception of someone in the dream(not sure I remember who, maybe my mom, not sure because of the man in the dream)
I was told by a witch friend that from what I said he was the man at the crossroads.
When he appeared in the dream, he was angry about something.
He said nothing that I recall, and the look on his face even with white and red makeup, was that of walking in on the deception and being angry either to have been called in or because he arrived to find the deception.
From what I have read about him, he can be a bit of a trickster, and also bestows gifts on those he is in contact with.
I have been trying to understand why he was angry.
What I surmised was that I was supposed to have been given the gift of healing.
My dog was dying as the deception and his angriness appeared.
I want to believe that his intent was that I be given this gift I have sought for a long time.
And that somehow he may have been angry because for some reason his gift did not get to me.
Perhaps was intercepted by the deceiver in the dream.
In real life I could guess who.
But no guessing for me.
Why would the man at the crossroads show up angry about someone being deceived?
I am baffled.

Hello!

I'm hoping someone can break down this decision. I want clarity but I also want psychic clarity. I also want to restore my psychic powers as they've been dormant or weakening due to lack of practice which I am now getting back into.

So first of all, I'm not sure if I want to buy both clarity and psychic vision products unless I should mix or use together, but which will work better for my needs?

Also, what can anyone recommend to powerfully bring back my psychic powers? I use to see things like it was no joke but over the years it seems I "lost my mojo" hehe.

AceJay,

Many products can be suggested for this work and all would be sufficient, some will work very well together and complement each other. Such as a mojo, I would carry a psychic mojo or a master key mojo to assist. The psychic products can be burned to enhance, smoked on objects used, the bath can be used to wash items and ones self, the powder applied to items, the oil applied to your hands and you. Some herbs such as star anis are known for psychic ability as well. As you practice and more open to them again it will come back, its like any skill use it or lose it, but once you start up its like riding a bike again.

Hi AceJay!

Along with what J82 wrote, I would add both psychic Vision and Clarity together, if you can. I like to put Clarity oil in between my eyebrows (third eye) to clear out all the fog when I'm giving readings (or using psychic abilities in any sense) and I use Psychic Vision oil on my temples and on my neck like a perfume so I can smell the scent of it. Clarity sort of opens everything up and then Psychic Vision sort of lifts you into that other realm where the "information" is.. That's just my experience but it works that way for me just about every time I use it (which is a lot). Another type is Spirit Guide products. I'm the sort of person who is absolutely fearless with the occult and necromancy and whatever else you can imagine and Spirit Guide incense has really been helpful to me to keep my ancestors close by (specifically my Grandpa) when I get into a situation that I can't easily get myself out of. Or rather, he makes sure that he's the loudest voice in the pack so I follow his guidance as opposed to any tricksters or my own thoughts. I make sure that I pray for a few minutes with the incense going before I get into whatever I'm going to do and it's been very helpful with knowing that what I'm hearing and seeing is the real truth. I read through the topic and couldn't find an answer here, I do wonder because I've tried either approach in the past.
I light candles on my honey jar Mon, Wed and Friday. I tend to pray before I light, as I light and then numerous times during the burn. When I pray my intent is very clear and focused. But between those, I do feel the need to get away (get food / use laptop etc..)
I have previously sat with the candle the whole time it was burning, and other times I'd sit with it for about 10-15 minutes numerous times during the burn but do other stuff the rest of the time. I am able to bring myself straight to "that place" (I'm clear with intent, speaking aloud helps me and it's easy because I live alone. But I've always felt unable to use "visualisation" techniques, but that never interfered with my rituals).

Are both approaches okay? Or?

I spend time in prayer with ancestors, the spirits of the work, the items being used, oils, etc. I Spend time in prayer with God and talk about it, pray about it. I state my petition and work, then light the candle and do the physical things as I speak out loud what it is and why. I then go in to prayer normally eyes closed praying on my petition and purpose. I am often caught in the moment and dont really recall thinking about doing anything other then praying, I dont focus on technique im focused on my prayer. I follow this with reading of scripture and end it with thanking the spirts, the items used and God for my prayer and answering it. If i visualize its before I get started and at the end when I sit in contemplation and accepting my prayer was answered. People may use different techniques I find a solid prayer with a heart felt petition brings all that into the work without me trying. I hope that helps.

Hi, I hope I'm in the right place and not asking a question which has been asked loads before. I've had a search but couldn't find the answer to this and I feel a bit silly because I don't know how much of this is in my mind.

Sometimes I feel like I can hear spirits and/or feel them. Usually when my mind is really clear and I'm very relaxed, so bedtime is good for this. My most solid experience of this is when my grandmother passed away. We talked every day and one day she called with a heavy cold. The call had a strange vibe considering I had no reason to think it was more than a cold and I'm sure she didn't know what was wrong with her. That night, as I was trying to get to sleep, I had her voice in my head very clearly and felt like she was right beside my bed, but I couldn't see her. She told me she had gone and to look after my three children. She also said she knew I hadn't taken that photo. I thought I was letting my fear get the better of me and dismissed it, quickly falling asleep but the next day I had a call to say she had been found dead.

Her voice was very clear in my mind. Most are less so and I find it hard to tell when I'm forcing things or allowing my own thoughts to get in the way. For example I think I hear something but then I focus on it, trying to hear more or understand what it means and by then I'm thinking and it's nothing but a mess of my own thoughts. Is there any way to work on this? I've tried meditation and sometimes it works really well but other times I can't do it at all.

Also I've recently picked up root work again for the first time seriously in a few years. I'm rusty but feel more positive about it than ever. To begin with I was seeing signs everywhere, not just for rootwork but also to back up a reading that I had from one of your amazing readers. It felt like I was being pushed to pay attention and do what I had been told. They would jump out at me and there was no question or doubt about whether it was a sign or movement, I just knew. More recently this has been much less so. I've been unwell but generally just feel more 'switched off'. Is that a thing? I feel like the signs and the spirits are probably still there but I can't seem to figure out how to tune in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had a very similar experience to yours when my grandmother passed away just over 20 years ago. I woke up feeling "off" that day, went about running errands and as I came home and put the key in to unlock my front door, I heard her clear as day right behind me saying "it's OK now" in Greek, her native language. I spun around and of course there was no-one there. I went inside to find my answering machine lit up with messages to call home and I learned that my grandmother passed away early that morning.

She comes around me all the time as we were extremely close (I am named after her, and she was my first teacher in spiritual practices and folk magic). Recently, I was performing work for a client and felt her guiding me. At one point, she threw a bag of herbs across my table to get my attention. She always liked to get her point across, and is no different now that she has crossed over. She sends me lilacs all the time as a random fragrance, as her house was ringed with lilac trees and we made a big deal of them whenever they were in season.

Since you have been having experiences with other spirits that come through less clearly than your grandmother did, perhaps you can speak to her and see if she will help you connect better to the other, more elusive ones. My grandmother often holds that door open for me.
