The point cat made brings to mind this question.

What about Moonshine? And other home-made alcohols. What is there historical folk-magic significance?

Moonshine is simply illicitly produced whiskey, Apollo Dark -- and like all whiskeys, it is a grain-based spiritous liquor which is Scots-Irish in cultural origin. It is not a large component in hoodoo, being mostly found among Scots-Irish people in the rural mountains, but african Americans also manufactured it. It came to prominence during the era of the Volstead Act ("prohibition") during which time it was illegal to manufacture spiritous liquors.

Other names for moonshine include white lightning, mountain dew, white mule, and block-and-tackle.

"White Lightning" by George Jones, "Mountain Dew" by Uncle Dave Macon, "Block and Tacke" by Washboard Sam, and "The Death of Holmes' Mule (Parts 1 and 2)" by Winston Holmes and Charlie Turner are four popular songs about this form of liquor. The last-named also contains some scandalous parodies of African American gospel music, as the "moaners" prepare to dig up Holmes' Mule from the grave where they had buried it for safekeeping.

My husband, I'll call him "T" has been an alcoholic for years. It has ruined our marriage and our life together. He finally went into rehab a couple of weeks ago after promising me that he would pick up our son from school and he went to a bar instead. I'm worried about when T gets out of rehab. If he is around the same friends and neighbors (we don't live together) that could easily put him right back where he started. He used to be a great dad, but in the past few years, his relationship with our son has been destroyed. Our son has been getting his hopes up that he might "get his dad back" and I'm hopeful, too but don't want to see him heartbroken again.
T has spent a lot of money on drinking and helping friends while our son and I struggle. I have asked about this situation on here before and already have a pic of father/son cut with a dollar bill between (suggested by Cat).
I don't want to seem like a control freak, but I care about this man and even though I don't even know if I want him back, I do want him to be ok and have a good relationship with our child and take care of his responsibilities. His parents and I are the only ones that I'm sure of as far as having his best interests in mind. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have his drivers license and was thinking about dressing that, since it is something he will have with him at all times when he is out of rehab.

Hi dani0203,

I've merged your post into the Forum thread on using spell-work to help alcoholic friends, relatives and close ones. There is a lot of excellent advice and some great spell-casting ideas to get you started.

To get rid of the bad influences in his life, you can work a vinegar jar to sour the friendship they have with your husband or a freezer jar to freeze them out of his life.

Thank you, Aura. I see a lot of great ideas here. Don't know how I couldn't find this before?!?
A freezer or souring jar is a great idea. It seems so obvious now that you've said it, but when I get really stressed about things, I sometimes miss the obvious... Thanks again!

dani0203, I would suggest a combination of Cast Off Evil (to help with overcoming the alcoholism and getting rid of bad companions) and Compelling (to get him to fulfill his obligations).

If you are not interested in a relationship with your husband, I suggest you file for divorce and get a child support order.

Hello All,

I'm new to the forums and new to using hoodoo, although I've had a hankering for praying for people for healing (using candles/laying on of hands for many years). The few hoodoo candles I've burned over the past few months have had noticeable results fulfilling the desired intentions, so I am compelled to try to do some more, deeper work. I'm mainly working for friends, not myself.

My question now is about the use of a Command/Compel/Control candle spell to influence someone to come to terms with her own addiction to alcohol and pills. No one telling her that she needs to quit drinking and taking pills will get her to stop, so my gut feeling is that the desire has to arise within herself. She knows the problems will eventually ruin her (she's a singer in a band), but she's dealing with so much heartbreak from failed romances, getting drunk and high is her only way to cope with the emotional pain.

Or would a white skull candle be a better way to put the idea of "quitting drinking/drugs" and "going to AA/NA" into her mind be better? She has people that will support her once she'll make up her mind to "turn around".

Thanks so much for listening, and for any advice.

Instead of a CCC candle, start with Cast Off Evil, which for is help with addictions, bad habits, and to rid oneself of bad companions. Either get a vigil candle or use a white candle dressed in COE oil.

It sounds like you and Ven. Matt Talbot could do some wonderful work together. I love the story of Matt Talbot -- a straight-up man, a labor activist with plenty of physical courage, who was wise enough and humble enough to seek divine help for alcoholism -- and, you know, that kind of humility also takes a certain amount of self-respect, doesn't it?

It sounds like your friend has been under too much stress for too long. I would add Blessing or Healing supplies to your work on her, and maybe call on St. Dymphna, too.

And Influence, so your spiritual urgings to seek help in the real world can sneak under her radar.

Best of luck,

Miss Michaele

I went to my local "magic shop" this afternoon to purchase a prepared Cast Off Evil candle, but they did not have one by that name. When I told them what purpose I needed to use it for they recommended using a Cut And Clear candle instead. I just used a Cut And Clear candle to help this same person leave a bad relationship (which seems so far to have worked successfully in giving her courage of not returning to that man, and from keeping him from chasing after her again). And when I read the differences on your site about the two different candles/spells, the COE candle sounds much more specific for dealing with addiction/etc. They just said to use CAC, with "powerful and clear intent" to "cut and clear them from their addiction"...

I feel like returning the candle to them and mail ordering a COE candle from you... except that every day that my friend goes on getting high is one more day closer to her demise.

Please advise.

We can only comment on Lucky Mojo products, not whatever is available at your local shop. Cut and Clear is to remove emotional ties, not to help with addictions. The employee or owner of the shop was just trying to sell what he/she had in stock, not what was right for the situation. Call the Lucky Mojo shop and see what Cast Off Evil supplies they have on hand or order from an eBay seller. I don't have any on hand at the moment, but I think there are a couple that do.

Father Mychal Judge is also a great saint to call on for matters of addiction. He was a recovered alcoholic who was one of the first victims of 9-11. He went into the buildings and gave last rites to many.

I apologize, I didn't make it clear that the shop I go to does not sell Lucky Mojo brand products. (I think that) they make their own versions of the different spell candles/oils/powders, in house. They just do not even carry any "Cast Off Evil" candles/oils/powders at all. Thus why they suggested the dual purpose of the Cut And Clear candle, I'm guessing :/ Regardless, I will go elsewhere to get these as you suggest.

Another question weighing on my heart is about the ethics of casting a spell such as this without the permission or knowledge of the recipient. I have very open communication with this friend, and at one time "promised" her that I would never do a spell on/for her without telling her so. The thing is that she's in denial about her problems with the alcohol/drugs. She admits that she has problems, and that she's addicted, but she loves her addictions and is not ready to get well. I believe, with the caring of a wise parent that there is a time when you just need to step in and do something. That's why I'm feeling compelled to take this action now with this spell. To get something stirred up inside her to get her to start to turn around... I guess I'm answering my own question. I should just talk with her, openly, tell her that I'm as concerned as I am, to the point of wanting to cast a spell for her... otherwise, I think I understand the mechanics and mystery of hoodoo, that there are times and reasons for casting spells w/someone in which the recipient does not know about the work being done, and therein lies more of the inherent potency of the magic working.

Thank you for letting me think out loud here, and please, share any thoughts and ideas. I want to learn.
Thank you too for the information about Father Mychal Judge, what a remarkable man and life.

You should get a reading as to whether you should go ahead with your work. In hoodoo, we generally feel that if a work is justified before God, we can proceed. Many of us do spells for and against others, without their knowledge. You might try using Influence products, which work in a subtle and gentle way to get others to do your will.

...and to add to Mama Micki, this forum is only for clients and customers of Lucky Mojo. It is against forum rules to discuss and recommend products from other sellers. Please read the forum rules here (faq.php?mode=rules). Mama Micki has provided excellent advice in response to your inquiry. You can also post of prayer for your friend to realize her addiction and want to do something about it; here is the link to the Crystal Silence League (http://crystalsilenceleague.org/prayerrequests.html), you will see the tag line, "Ask and Ye Shall Receive..."

Post a prayer for yourself too, it is not an easy task to have a friend in that situation and it seems that you genuinely care about her.

You've all been so kind to allow me to ask as much as I have seeing that I am not yet a customer or client of Lucky Mojo. Does all it take for me to become a "customer" mean I need to buy some of your products? If that's the case, I'll order some things right after I finish this posting. I have two questions about what was suggested in the last two msgs; What exactly is a "reading"? A linked answer will suffice. And the Crystal Silence League web page made me wonder something... since everyone's prayers are displayed publicly, and just anyone who stumbles upon the page could click on the button to say that you prayed for someone's needs, where is the quality control?

This matter with my friend and her addiction's is a much deeper story than I've given light to yet. There are two people in her life that have a lot of control over her emotions. One is her on and off boyfriend of 4 yrs, and the other is her "best friend", the two of which war with each other for control of her attention. THEY are pretty much what has driven her to use alcohol and drugs. It's a messy, twisty story of emotional abuse and even sexual entrapment, BUT, she's gotten sick of it all from both of them and has come to a soul-realization that she just wants to be done with the both of them. And is now trying to cut free from them.

She has had elevations in consciousness that gives her boosts of strength to make decisions to cut off from them and move on, but they do not understand, nor want to let her go. And this is where I've been trying to help her with hoodoo, but for lack of better knowledge of why I should use one suppliers products over another's, I've just been using the supplies available at my local magic shop. We burned a Cut And Clear candle to affect the bf, and are now burning a Hot Foot candle to distance the best friend. She feels more emotionally clear of the bf, but he came back to her house yesterday and she could not resist letting him come inside and start to work his persuasions again. So we think we should do a Hot Foot candle for him now too. I also just ordered some red brick dust (from a different source) to protect the entrance to her home with. I also advised her awhile ago to do the "black walnut spell" to break her old love for this bf, and she thought she was finished enough with him in her mind that she didn't need to. Now she's thinking differently and is willing to try it.

As far as praying to Saint Matt Talbot goes for helping her with her alcoholism goes? It's already taken effect. I lit a Virgin of Guadalupe candle with a photo of her and Saint Matt Talbot beside it for prayer. She coincidentally had a big fight with the best friend, a fight which she says was the "last straw", and since she's stopped seeing her she says her "need to drink" has ended and has not drank in 4 days now.

Thank you ALL again, for listening and allowing me to share my story.

I've been with my boyfriend for almost two years now. I love him dearly and I don't want any of that to change.
He already chases me around like a little "puppy" so to speak. My main issue is the fact that he's a pothead and all the ways I've tried to get him to quit he won't. On top of this, he is very forgetful, irresponsible, and immature. I truly love him and I'm not moving on because I know he is capable of so much more. I also know he's pot smoking is the to blame for all the symptoms I've mentioned.

Hello,

My brother has been cursed with madness and substance abuse by a lady.

I would like to use the spell in Ms. Cat Yronwode's book "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic" on page 144 under "Peony: To help or Heal Someone Dear to You":

1) I would like to know if the root has to be a fresh plant straight from the ground or in dried form?

2) What type of paper should I use for this spell to write the person name on?

3) What oil would be suited for this type of spell?

4) What other suggestions do you have for spells that should be done in this situation?

amazon_woman,

1) It is the dried root, like this:

HER-PEO-RTSL
Peony Root, Slices
$5.00

Image

Image

You can order right here in the Forum by clicking on the blue Add To Cart button.

2) The type of paper is up to you; it is quite common in hoodoo to use brown paper bag paperm with no printing on it, neatly torn on all sides.

3) We sell Peony Root in Oil, but the root pieces in the oil are just chips (due to the small bottle neck) Other choices are Healing Oil, Clarity Oil, Blessing Oil, and Cast Off Evil Oil. A 4 oz. Rootworker and Church Special blend of any four of the five oils i have listed here would be fine.If you are religiously inclined, there are also protective oils for calling in certain spirits (see below).

4) I have merged your question into the thread on drug addictions and if you read from the beginnng, you may find further ideas. A healing doll has been known to help, as have small shrines with a photo of the drug addict plus a guardian spirit, such as an ancestor, Angel, Venerable Matt Talbot, Jesus, Kwan Yin, etc.It is the custom to light a white candle at such a shrine at least once a week and to keep a glass of water there.

The white candle is dressed with an oil blend and is used to call in good spirits or deities for protection. Popular choices include Spirit Guide Oil, Indian Spirit Guide Oil, Guardian Angel Oil, Archangel Raphael Oil, and a variety of deity and saint oils favoured by individuals and families of various cultural traditions.

The water is used to call in the evil spirits to drink, and it emptied out far away from the home, into a crossroads, cemetery, or wilderness, to cause the evil spirits to lose their way.

Good luck!

Well I'm living at home right at the moment, and for whatever reason, my dad has started drinking again. He used to be so good, going to AA, not having anything for a year. Then all of a sudden for the past few weeks, he has continued. First margaritas, then beer, now whisky. And for the first time in a while today, he has yelled at us. He's calmed down, but frankly, I think he needs to stop permanently.

I'm torn in the methods and ways I can go about it. I want him to stop and have the courage to stop and the wherewithal to have a beneficial transition to sobriety. I want whatever is bugging him to be handled in a responsible, calm way. However, I am so angry at him for the pain and embarrassment he puts on himself and this family. I want him to be confronted by his own problems, I want him to realize the pain that he causes us, emotionally and mentally. I want him to stop and truly appreciate why.

I will talk to him when he is sober. But I also feel like a little something 'extra' could go along way. I'm worried at his age with his heatlh problems, he won't live as long as he could. And though I regretfully state that I only care because he is my 'dad' and nothing more to it, I don't want to see him in pain and (perhaps more importantly) my mom and my fellow family members to go down the path with him.

P. S (My brother in law and a family friend of ours have been getting in the way of his sobriety by constantly bringing with them the beverages that will later be let behind. what can I do about them?

I didn't know where else to post this, and this is vaguely related to the stated topic.

This morning, I woke up to a disastrous nightmare of epic proportions. My DFH wakes up, finds 3/4 of this marijuana missing, his phone(s) Contact numbers have been messed around with, his lighter's gone. We'd both taken Xanax last night because we were both coming down from non-weed materials that both of us need to be in treatment for. I gave him 1mg and I took 2.75 mg. We both each smoked some marijuana, he almost immediately, he rolled over and went to sleep. About 20 minutes later, my Xanax finally kicked in and I went to sleep as well.

That's literally everything that happened.

My man and I have been having a rough go of it lately, and he has trouble with the law over it (which is why I bought the Court Case spell last month). Because of the circumstances of above-mentioned case, my DFH has to continue his usage of said poison his purveryor sells because the Omaha Police want his purveyor with a will. S/he ( I use that to protect his/her identity private) has come up in investigations in the last two years from the FBI, DEA and now the Omaha Police Narcotics division. So DFH is in hot water for other reasons, but they want to use his association with him/her as a carrot to get him to turn traitor against someone he considers a friend, which is also making this much harder on him.

This crap this morning was the very last thing we needed because of the above-named factors; and I'm fresh out of ideas or answers because I don't have any clue about how any of it happened...but he's blaming me and using that reason (which, if I really had done these things, would be the most appropriate answer, but I didn't) breaking up with me. Painfully for both of us, we really do love each other (he re-iterated this to me this morning as he was telling me he couldn't believe he'd actually thought I really loved him, and then I went and did this....which I didn't...but because neither of us know anything beyond what I've mentioned here, I can't prove him wrong.

My next guess is, either [a] a spirit took control of one of us and did it. The victim was most likely me (because this happened once before and it had been my Dad who'd took control of me and had me erase all DFH's female phone numbers and his memory card). Or , Bobby misplaced all of it or something because I really have no idea what's going on or how any of it happened because I passed out about 20 minutes I have a lawful, legal prescription for Xanax for anxiety. I mention this because I'd been thinking of writing a post asking what kind of spell and I how should go about it, on myself and DFH, to help us in our efforts to get and stay clean from our poison of choice and I suspect that the fact that we were on a comedown from it, both of us had taken Xanax and marijuana to fall asleep, possibly made it super-easy for a spirit to take control of either one of us and do this simply to cause this kind of chaos. I only put myself at the top of the possible victims list because I'm the one who can see and talk to ghosts.

Please help in any way you can as I'm truly out of answers and I do need the advice on a spell I can cast on myself and DFH to further our efforts towards sobriety.

Thank you so much in advance for any and all answers :)

Good Morning, Sharon Athena,
I am so sorry that all of this has happened to you.
It really sounds to me like you both need Medical, as well as Legal advice.
I highly suggest that you both see a Physician, as well as an attorney, to sort all of this out.
If you think you did do what you have been accused of, you really need to see a Doctor about this.
If there were no drugs involved (and other factors), then I would have suggested this product: www.luckymojo.com/tibetanghostpurgingincense.html
After seeing the proper professionals, (and still have problems) give it a try.
Hope this helps. Good luck to you

Hello,

What products can I purchase from you'll that will help assist with encouraging my ex lover to get off drugs. I feel that he stays too high. How can he keep his mind on me, high at all times. I've been burning uncrossing and return to me products on current pictures of him.

I feel if I knew how to make him (if possible) lose interest in doing drugs... He will be able to concentrate about the more important things in life. He's currently living with a witch woman who supplies him with drugs, cause she know that will make him want to stay with her. He's now living more than six hours away from his family who misses him. I want him back in my life but more importantly, i care about his well being. Please help. I have to get him away from this witch.

Greetings Gods Child, you might consider using Cast of Evil to rid him of addiction: http://www.luckymojo.com/castoffevil.html

Gods Child

I agree with Miss Phoenix. Your work would be adequate if he were not living with the person who is crossing him up and supplying him with drugs. Cast Off Evil will act like an anti-magnet, driving them apart. You can also use black cat hairs and black dog hairs to make them fuss and fight.
You can also do a breakup spell like the one pictured on this page:
Name the black candle for the witch woman -- and get ANOTHER one to stand beside it, and name it for the drugs she is giving him.

You can also use glass-encased candles for this spell, or clothed figural candles if you don't want sex all tangled up in it. Using nude candles, though, might be a good idea if sex is a factor in his entanglement.
He's now living more than six hours away from his family who misses him.
Sprinkle a trail of Come To Me powder between your candle and his. Get a package of lodestone grits. Load your candle and his with one each, and place the rest on the trail of powder that leads him back to you.

Hope this helps,

Miss Michaele

I read the post here on cast off evil working to help a loved one on addictions like alcohol. I would like to know how and what is needed to purchase to cast away my husbands addiction to alcohol and if anyone can help me.

My husbands addiction to alcohol has cost us a lot of problems in our marriage and him with the law. I know he has tried to quit but can't. I would like to help him, without causing him any harm.

I know I can use cast off evil but what else do I do?

Can anyone share a spell; I like to use candles.

Oh and will I be OK when doing the spell or do I need protection?

Please help.

Hi browneyes13,

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I'm happy to see you are reaching out for help for him.
Most alcoholics simply can't give up alcohol without help. Get him into a 12 step program, and there are programs for people who are involved with an alcoholic.
In addition to the cast off evil products:
http://luckymojo.com/castoffevil.html
There is also a very good product I've found that helps with addictions:
http://luckymojo.com/healing.html

The Lucky Mojo sells candles already fixed and dressed with the correct herbs and oils.
http://luckymojo.com/mojocatcandles.html

For you, the clarity products and King Solomon's wisdom products to help with more insight in
guiding him toward rehabilitation.

Also, go back and read this thread. There have been many excellent answers posted by forum moderators
for this issue.

Read Miss Cat's free online book:
http://www.luckymojo.com/hoodoo.html

I would also encourage you to get a reading and perhaps some magical coaching.

In addition to professional help, I am working on a dolly for a friend that was previously in an abusive relationship. She comforts herself by shopping excessively. What types of herbs can I use to heal her and curb her obsession?
Thanks

Hi DreamCatcher,

It's really wonderful of you to wat to help your friend in her recovery. In addition to professional help and the support that she can get from a group which specializes in shopping addiction (and there are many both on-line and in-person), herbs such as eucalyptus, master of the woods, lemon leaves, hyssop and yarrow can all be helpful. 13-herb bath can also be quite useful.

Working a Cast Off Evil Spell kit can also back up your doll work nicely; you'll find that here: http://www.luckymojo.com/spell-cast-off-evil.html

Blessings.

Dream Catcher, don't forget Lucky Mojo's condition oils, powders, incenses and bath crystals -- named in the old-fashioned way for the conditions they address. Your friend might benefit from the following:

Hi,

Can anyone help me with this situation any spell work I can do my fiancé is addicted to heroin he doesn't do it everyday but when he gets money he goes and buys it. I know you are going to say get him into rehab and send him to church but he won't go to rehab he's been there for other addictions in the past he says he's not an addict so that won't help and about taking him to church well both of his parents are pastors. Is there anything I can do to make him stay away from it or make those people he buys from stay away anything to cure him of this?

Hi sofia,

You won't like what I have to say, you're warned ahead of time. Heroin is your fiancé's first Lady - not you. No matter how much work you do - if he won't get help and doesn't see the problem as you describe in your post - it won't change. Until he decides to break up with his GF the White Lady of his own free will, you'll be fighting an uphill battle.

That said, I've merged your post into the existing thread on helping a loved one with drug addiction. Usually spell work will involve Cleansing and Cast Off Evil as you will be able to read. Seriously consider bypassing the heartache and moving on at this point - before you have a marriage and children that can both be seriously injured by his habit.

I'm with Aura. There are over seven billion people on this planet and probably a few million who would be suitable partners for you. There is no need to be involved with a drug addict.

Here's my problem in a nutshell. I'm in recovery from an addiction, but my next door neighbor still uses. That's fine, not my business, but the loud parties and constant traffic of dealers in and out of her place are a trigger.

Second, those dealers know me and often knock on my door and will give me something off the cuff which is billed to me later. Now I can avoid calling them but when they knock on my door and give me the product, I can't refuse. My will is not so strong.

I honestly don't want my neighbor to be evicted or hurt, because I'm walking in the love of God now and don't want to provoke malice. The Bible says "Love does no harm to a neighbor." and I believe that. I don't want the dealers to be hurt either, I just don't want to be in the path of temptation.

Also, {I say this respectfully for the beliefs of others} I'm a Christian so I really prefer to use the Bible as a frame work...I'm wondering if there are Psalms I can pray and Saints I can invoke to bring about the desired end?

I did pour blessed salt along my doorways and windows to neutralize evil influences but it only seemed to limit them somewhat.

Hello Lady Diane,

I am sorry to hear you are in this predicament but I commend you for being strong and facing down your addiction. I am assuming you have found some kind of support group such as AA or something similar. If you have not yet I highly recommend you do so. If you can I also recommend working with some one like a social worker with addictions training to help you find the strengths you do have and give you more tools to use in breaking away from the addiction. Doing these kinds of things I feel give the root-work that you do an avenue to use to get the work done!

For the root-work This link will give you a starting point on working with psalms:

http://www.readersandrootworkers.org/wi ... _of_Psalms

Psalm 23 is good for all the work you try to do and psalm 56 is for removing temptations and ending bad habits.

I would also recommend working with the Archangel/Saint Michael for protection. It is good that you do not wish to harm the people around you but they do not have the same intention toward you so protecting yourself is important. I personally would get a Fiery Wall of Protection kit and work it. You can read about Fiery Wall of Protection at this link:

http://www.luckymojo.com/fierywallofprotection.html

Last night on the Hoodoo rootwork radio hour Miss Michaele mentioned to someone to mix white mustard seed into their protection work and I feel like this would be good for you to do as well. She mentioned that the white mustard seed is a symbol of faith and I think if you put this into your Fiery Wall of Protection powders it will add strength to your work.

This will help you get a start but there is a lot more work that can be done. I am sure other workers will give you there ideas to help as well.

Also post a prayer to the Crystal Silence League http://www.crystalsilenceleague.org/.

Peace~

Nathen

Good evening LM family,

I have a question on what to do over a sister who is addicted to heroin (she snorts it) whom she use to get from her bf who is in jail now for stealing. I get this is a big question lol, though I have watched my little sister wither away like a tree in winter from a beautiful girl to a pale crippled skeleton who still holds on to this . we have offered and tried to pay for rehab, cut her off, etc. My question comes down to this, is their a working I can use to control her from this like a doll baby, tied up? surround the doll with cast off evil? mirror box spell? Her baby daddy is a pedophile who is in jail for also stealing from a women ( he also raped my sister but she excuses it as I wanted him to). so keeping him away or her off him would help as he was her primary drug dealer. Yes I plan to get a reading to help and have had readings about her from AIRR all said she is not over the addiction. I get that but now I need help. please

Hello, j82 ,
Oh, I am so very sorry to read this. Sounds like she is in such a bad way. My heart goes out to you and your family.
As you know, everybody has their own spell ideas.
I think your spell ideas are great. Since this is your last resort, it is worth a try.
I would certainly cast a destruction spell on him (just to get rid of him forever). Or bind him (as you already know) and then throw his doll in a sewer.
Have you thought about skull candles also for your sister? Is there some sort of past memories (when she was clean an sober) that you could instill in her head?
You could use eucalyptus in the skull candle www.herb-magic.com/eucalyptus.html
I pray that other people may have more (or better) ideas for you.
And, as you already know, have the Crystal Silence League pray for her.
Again, I am so very sorry that this has happened.

Hey I am really sorry for what you and the family is going through. I am extremly empathetic being I have a sister addicted to drugs and has torn the family apart at the seems. I will tell you from experience that magic / hoodoo can help but they also need clinical help. This is also an on going work, once you let the guard down they fall into it. I would do clarity work or even a jar to make him see himself as he is ( rather then his warped view), cast off evil products is amazing for this, and healing with blessing and crussible of courage to give them the edge to do it. Work a doll baby to get him to seek help and I would also do crossing work to catch the drug dealers, dress the money next time so he will give it to them inadvertly with the negativity cast on it

I think your mother could use Crucible of Courage, too, kandyspop.

Your father also needs to be in a program. Your mother should be attending Al-Anon (for families of alcoholics) and/or Nar-Anon (for families of drug addicts). These might provide a "real-world" link to lead your father to Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous or both.

May all your paths lead to blessings,

Hello all,

I've been reading through the posts here on how to help with alcohol problems. My half brother is an alcoholic, he's unemployed, suffers from panic attacks, has nervous problems and is deeply unhappy. He recently told our mother and I that he was abused as a child (he's now in his fifties) and drinks to numb the pain, as well as to cope with the nervous problems.

I see that folks recommend using Cast Off Evil products to help with alcoholism. As the abuse is an underlying reason for his drinking, would I add Healing products to help? He has no interest in attending programs to recover from alcoholism and has no spirituality so the likelihood of getting him into something like AA is very slim, though my mum and I are going to try to persuade him.

I'd be grateful for any advice on this.

Hi Wyrm,

Healing is definitely well advised along with the Cast Off Evil if there was abuse.

Although not Hoodoo, if you work with Saints, Saint-Dymphna can be of particular assistance in cases like this: http://www.luckymojo.com/saintdymphna.html

AA aside, there are a couple of options for someone who isn't spiritual: simply seeing a psychologist or social worker can help. Another option is to choose a volunteer activity, this allows your half-brother to do something outside himself. Abuse survival groups in-person or on-line are yet another choice: this would give him a space to talk about what happened and perhaps over time even come to terms with it. You can also post a prayer request at the Crystal Silence League: http://www.crystalsilenceleague.org/; the service is free and gets lots of people praying for his recovery.

Blessings.

Wondering if something similar could help with my Father, his alcoholic addiction had been almost diminished over ther years, the addiction I'm more concerned about is his cigarette addiction. He has COPD and is on oxygen, still smokes... his saturation is in the low 80s usually. Would the same oils work for this addiction? And any other suggestions? Thanks :)

Yes, definitely.

In fact, I'm a heavy smoker and have been considering using the identical myself.

If you decide to do this, please keep us posted. I am particularly interested for myself.

Thanks Miss Aida I definately will.

I know it's hard to quit I smoked for many years. Some of my pushes for quiting smoking was I looked at cost of how much it was costing me weekly, then added it up for a year total. Also looking at my families history with smoking COPD and health. Watching my dad not able to get around or go many places isn't easy.
I did start my quiting process by rationing my cigs and then cutting them out day by days, I found my willpower to give it up.
I still have an clove from time to time but no more regular cigs.
I'm hoping to bring my Dad's health to a better place. :)

Thanks again.
