Deleting and Blanking Past Posts, Deleting Account

Hi,

I was not able to change my username by following the directions... the USERNAME tab was "locked".
I also can't find a way to "unregister" so I can re-register... can you help me?

Based on what I see on your current posting Hopeful, it looks like it worked. Was there some other detail you wanted to adjust on your forum profile?

How do we delete pur past posts? I knew there was an option of setting expires to zero and then it would be deleted but now I cannot see anything like that.

You can't delete them once someone has replied.

Some people go back and edit the posts, and write DELETED BY POSTER or something like that.

When they do that, we BAN THEM from the forum. They have wasted our time as moderators and made entire threads unreadable, and we no longer wish to have them in our midst. Deleting portions of one's own posts is the most common reason for banning, by far.

I do not know what post you are referencing; however, if you want to delete it, an initial post or a response to a thread, even if it is to an existing thread (lets take the honey jar thread), you can "x out" or delete as long as there are no other responses to it. It is a soft delete.

You will be able to see it in a different color until it is completely deleted by The Forum Mods or Management, Miss Cat and Nagasiva.

It will go away, it might not appear to be gone, but the color tells you its in "soft delete" and it will get deleted.

Once there are responses to it, you can no longer soft-delete it, as people have gotten involved and are replying to you, and so the conversation is preserved.

Why?

Because people have gone to a lot of trouble and taken a lot of time, from the kindness of their hearts, to reply to your questions, and when you blank your posted questions, you make the whole thread useless to the public. This makes the contributions of others worthless, as often the entire thread must be deleted.

If you don't want your messages seen, don't post here.

2)
If you blank your posts repeatedly, i will ban you, your email address, and your IP address in a hot minute.

P.S. to LeenaB -- just ask and your account will be deleted. However, your old posts, if any, will remain visible, as they are now part of the conversation here.

I started a thread I shouldn't have started in the Ask for Break Up help...etc subforum. I completely misunderstood advice an AIRR rootworker gave me and didn't realize until after I posted. I actually misunderstood the entire reading LOL. I am clearing it up with them now. No one replied yet, is it possible to delete it? I am sorry for the inconvenience, promise it wont happen again, please don't ban me! The thread is called "need help making them cold to each other".

@ catherineyronwode I didn't know that asking to remove a post would be this much of a problem it was my 1st time in here, I came here for help because I very confused about my problem & needed some advice. I posted my problem & 2 people responded one of them told me to get a reading & take it from there which I did immediately, I paid & scheduled a reading then asked for my post to be deleted I didn't think I was wasting anyone's time but If I did my apologies it won't happen EVER again you can thank you
