I am an artist/illustrator, and I would like to start working from home and taking commissions so I can build my presence and fanbase, as an artist, to support myself. However, I am not sure how long it'll take to start making money, or if I will be successful at all. Because of that uncertainty, I do not know if I should go back to work (which I don't really want to do). I go back to school in august to finish my AA, and I only have one more class left. However, I need to take 4 classes to raise my GPA from a 3.1 to a 3.5 in order to get into a CAL State, but I fear if I do that I would have to work a retail job, where I would not be making a significant amount of money. I am very confused on what path to take. Art commissions from home and 1 class, or 4 classes with low-pay retail job?
