Nov 2 -- Tonight's Radio Show Tech Update (#6577)

I just spoke with Dr. Kioni about tonight's upcoming show with
Christine Wicker. At the time, his dial-up stream was down. He had
called tech support at the sompany, but had so far received no reply.

The dial-up stream is the 24k stream -- and it serves about 2 dozen
listeners each week, those who only have dial=up connections to the
internet. Dr. Kioni has two 64k streams and a 128k stream in addition
to the dial-up stream, so anyone with broadband or dsl should not be
affected -- just the dial-up folks.

If the stream is not online by the time the show starts, you may still
be able to listen with a dial-up connection: Go to Dr. Kioni's
positivevibes.net site and connect via winamp or another alternative
hook-up. Dr. Kioni has bult a lot of redundancy into his system to
permit workarounds like this, so do take advantage of them.

A third alternative would be to telephone in and listen on the phone
conference line. That will not only allow you to hear the show in
progress, but you could ten also participate at the half-hour point
when we open the floor to questions for Christine Wicker, the author of
"Not in Kansas Anymore," who is tonigh's guest. The phone number and
access code for November 2 have already been put through to the list --
just scroll back through the most recent old messages to find the
information.

wonderful show last night. It was a pure pleasure hearing you talk
about your experiences and Cat (with Siva's list in hand) really did
a wonderful job of channelling Terry Gross to provide us with a smooth
and engaging interview. Have you begun talks with NPR yet, Cat?
