I've a member of the forum for...over 10 years, I reckon. I have these questions that kept on haunting me, finally managed to put them to words

Regarding crossroads work:
1. For road-opening. I've heard the technicque of buying dirt from the crossroads after a 7 day road-opener bath mentioned on the LM Hoodoo Rootwork Hour podcast multiple times.
But how should I do it, if these baths are supposed to be thrown above my left shoulder and I am to move forward without looking back? Should I go back to the crossroads at a different time of that given day?
2. Sunrise bath before beginning *any* new work - any kind of bath aligned with any kind of work.
Now this question is more subtle. A few years back, members of the forum used to present this - if my memory and textual interpretation serves to any good - seemingly indicating it as a rule.
But Miss Cat says that there are no "rules" to folk magic, right? Merely identitary or professional preferences to the practice?
I mean, I do get it. I have tried to work Hoodoo without it, it feels weird. Specially when making jars, fixing candles, mojos etc.
3. But *incense*, for one, to affect a given situation at a distance. I feel like it could be done without the sunrise bath, even though I haven't tested it (I will cleanse before, though, if needed. Chicken foot, egg, sprinkler etc).
But overall, the "rule" bit on item number 2. I could really use some clarification with that, if you please.
Thanks in advance.
