Our guest is Jane from Augusta, GA.
Jane writes:
'I am a writer who has had some small success
with my work (quarterlies and that sort of thing,
in addition to being nominated for a Pushcart Prize).
My fulltime writing job was eliminated last June and
I now make my living writing freelance for various
organizations related to publishing and bookselling.
As you might imagine, the paid work is not the work
that, for lack of a less hackneyed phrase, feeds my
soul, and it takes an enormous amount of time and
energy to make a living, leaving no time for my
own creative work.
No doubt you can see what's coming: I would like
to write a book that will both satisfy my creativity
and make money so my family doesn't have to
struggle so much financially. That is the first
component. The other is my will and focus. I am
ready to commit to writing this book (I turn 50
August 3rd) but I need help 1) finding the voice
for this book and 2) staying focused. Catherine,
I've read your book and numerous others on Hoodoo,
etc., so I'm not a total neophyte, and I've
ordered a number of your products to good effect.
I just don't know where to start. Can--or will--
you and Dr. Kioni help me?"
