Hello everyone! My legal name is Michael Malachi Wahl (for now, I'm gonna change it) but you can call me dhruva das. That was the name given to me by my guru when I was initiated.

I'm a 27 year old man from New Orleans. Religion and spirituality are my passion and the most important thing in my life. I grew up surrounded by New Orleans voodoo and feel an intense yearning to learn to be a rootworker. I MUST take the correspondence course as soon as I'm permitted by professor Cat to do so!

The most interesting thing about me is that I'm a devoted Hindu (though I am not Indian) and I was actually a legit monk for two years. I even got to live in a monastery in France, I left last December. Hinduism has a magical tradition as well, but same as hoodoo your not gonna get the good stuff on the internet, and I also don't speak Hindi so I've got no chance there.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I'm still gathering the prerequisite materials at the moment because of the time requirement. I'll be sure to do that as soon as I hit the four month mark and have all the materials. Thank you so much for being willing to consider me and I'm really looking forward to our talk when the time comes. Not to sound patronizing but you really are doing a unique and great service to mankind here.

Since this is for intro posts, I'm gonna end this here but I'm excited to jump in the conversation elsewhere and I'll be listening into the radio show this Sunday!

I know that my "four months of purchases" requirement seems strangely fussy, but it became obvious that people who just waltzed into the hop and got the course book almost never completed the course.

So i added the interview. Then it became obvious that people who had no supplies to do the homework never finished the course.

So i added the required supply list. Then it became obvious that people who plunked down the money for all the supplies at once and had the interview on the spot never finished the course.

So i spaced the purchases out to four months. Then it became obvious that people who were not connected to the Lucky Mojo Forum would never join the students-only portion of the forum.

So i made 3 posts in the forum a requirement. And look -- here you are, having an online conversation with me!

Each step i took cut down the number of students significantly -- which i think is exactly what i wanted to see. At the early stages, from 2003-2006 i got one new student per day -- which was crazy, because almost none of them graduated. Since the interview and supply requirements were added in 2010, i now get about 2 - 4 new students per month, and almost all of them graduate.

Actually I wouldn't say that seems fussy at all. You put a lot of time, work, and money into this and it should be respected. I'd say you found a very clever way to weed out those who don't take it seriously. Not so much in the modern day, but in the old days in India a guru may force you to be his servant for YEARS before they would take you on as a student to make sure you're ready and committed.

On another note, I bought a triple strength red clover mojo hand from the site about a month ago and I have a couple questions about it. Can I ask you now or should I switch to a more appropriate thread?

Hello Mrs. Catherine!

I just wanted to let you know that I called the shop today to ask to have my purchases verified and set up an interview with you. Whoever I spoke to told me they would get back to me next week because I wasn't listed as a prospective student yet. I'm greatly looking forward to speaking with you and I'm very very excited to take your course!
I know this doesn't effect you directly, but just so you know, my purchases are under the name Michael but last month my legal name change went through, it's now legally dhruva.
