Thanks to Eoghan (and Cat and Dr. Kioni, of course) for a fascinating radio
show!

I too enjoyed the show...its just great associating everyone's voice with their emails. Next will be pictures! I'm going to keep looking for a crystal ball, so if anyone comes across a good source, or one for sale please contact me. Thanks so much for the wonderful lesson last night

(I am going to carry crystal balls. This show galvanized me in that direction. I would relly appreciate some "shopping" help in getting a price range (wholesale and retail) on the three major varieties (lead glass, reconstituted quartz, and natural rock of various types) in the popular 4", 5", and 6" sizes. I spent two hours on the web last night researching and found neither any bargains or any solid leads that i would consider reliable wholesale suppliers. I may have to go to a gem and mineral show for this. Anyone in the group have clues on the matter? --cat)

Well, I *thought* this was TMI....maybe not?

As soon as my husband heard "lead crystal balls" last night, he
started searching at eBay.

You can pay $2000 for a Meiji-era Japanese crystal ball on a beautiful
antique stand if you want to, or you can pay fifty cents (Buy It Now
price!) plus ten bux shipping for a palm-size ball of lead crystal, 2
inches across. Personally, a 4-incher looks clumsy to me. I like the
idea of a 2" sphere that I can tuck into my purse.

A seller named UKludan, in Great Britain, is selling spheres of
semiprecious minerals - amethyst, rose quartz and the like - for 99
pence each, but shipping is 9 pounds (a pound is about 2 bux US). Less
than 1 1/2 inches across, though. Ahimsaann, another British seller,
offers 1" spheres of fancy semiprecious minerals for the same price
and 2 pounds shipping worldwide.

An Australian seller, xkuzhu, is offering several 4 1/2" spheres
starting at 99 cents and shipping for $11.00 - AUSTRALIAN, which is
about 77 cents to the US dollar.

It doesn't sound like any of these is a wholesale bargain, though.
