literarylioness: Would I absolutely need to toss the cleaning implement? I haven't actually done a full house cleaning yet, so this is new to me.

My house has a great deal of carpeting in it, and I had an idea for spiritual scrubbing.

Can I use sachet powders (perhaps mixed into a little baking soda) to magically "wash" the carpets? I'd sprinkle it, let it sit, then vacuum it up like those carpet fresheners. I'd still use Chinese Wash, etc ...

Resurrecting an older thread for one question: would Irish Moss be a good addition? That's the first thing that came to mind when I read Spanish Moss.
