I think the map is a good idea. You could write on the back "This place will make you miserable." I would use the pins, calamus or licorice, red pepper and his photo. Place the map in the jar as well. Leave Banishing out of the spell.

Sorry it didn't work out. If burying the jar is an option for you I would do it. You can open it up and dump out the container. If you wish to repurpose the jar, just wash it out with a bit of Florida Water.

It won't harm the plant. I have never noticed it to breakdown of the wax or for it to cause any change to the soil. You may forget it's there when repotting the plant and be a little surprised it's there but that's about it.
