My first thought was that Grandmother might not want her penny from
her prized collection to either leave the family or go traveling in a
mojo bag. Some folks...even discorporated...get a little testy about
such things.

Actually, it's ravens who are considered the smartest of all birds. Crows are, of course, in the same family and do exhibit many similar behaviors. For an excellect documentary on ravens, see the PBS Nature program "Ravens", available on vhs (maybe dvd).

A good and easy (and old as the hills) remedy for colds and sore throats is apple cider vinegar and honey. Mix about a 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar with a tablespoon of honey...or a bit more to taste...and swig it down. Three times a day if you can. It must be apple cider vinegar, though ...
